Lifestyle: Darragh & BJ

As this summer was coming to an end I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of shooting the fabulous Darragh and “BJ”

Darragh and BJ drove two hours to meet me in their home town, not only did they grown up there, that’s where they met.  So our location was pretty significant. It was so fun to hear Darragh recall memories from high school dances to her  and Bj’s wedding;  and it just so happened we were able to take some shots in front of the hotel where her prom was held.

Darragh and BJ embody the essence of Calm, Cool, and collected. It was as if they’d been modeling for years. I was defiantly more nervous behind the camera than they were in front of it. They were so natural and completely up for anything (my favorite to shoot )  

BJ has a smile that can rival and Colgate commercial actor and Darragh is literally just fabulous! These two together are just so much fun. I honestly left our session wishing they’d drive back home with me to spend more time together .

At the end of our session Darrgah surprised me with an  unexpected gift.  Just like me Darragh wears many hats. One of those hats is as a consultant  for 31 bags.  I follow her page religiously because she is always posting updates and one of a kind specials that other consultants don’t often do. Engagement: Tyler & Gretchen, Winter Love

This is probably my most long awaited post… not just mine but for a lot of folks.

This is Gretchen and Tyler, some of my dearest friends.  I have know them both for many years now and have never known them independent of one another;  Their names are synonymous.  Ever the consummate southern gentleman, Tyler, was polite enough to suffer my incessant and often irritating grandiose plans of wedding proposals (love you T).  In the end it, was truly love that guided Tyler to the perfect moment while we all waited...and waited.....and waited a little bit more to witness the rest of their love story.

For a woman, her thirtieth birthday is a huge deal. So fittingly enough Tyler asked Gretchen to marry him just a few hours before she turned the big “three oh” { so she can technically say she got engaged in her twenties} . He took her on a romantic picnic to the beach (complete with her favorite wine) and without any witness' (ie; me, hidden behind a rock to capture the moment. It’s ok though lol) Tyler got down on one knee and asked Gretchen to spend the rest of her life with him!!!

… and literally since the moment that story was shared with me and all of our friends during Gretchen’s thirtieth birthday I  haven’t stopped being that annoying friend who sends color schemes and wedding dress designs all while bugging the couple about engagement photos  (but I will never stop being that annoying friend and that’s probably why we are besties)

No one  deserves a happily ever after more than one of my “bestest” friends ever! Gretchen is the epitome of humility and beauty;  She is the most genuine person you will ever meet...and her Fiancè isn't that bad either :)

Lifestyle: Pi'ilani & Richie, Christmas Love 2013

If you are a reader to this BLOG then you’ve known my favorite thing to do is to shoot couples. Don’t get me wrong I love the families, kids, pets , of course wedding and parties, but my ultimate passion is capturing the love between two people. For me nothing compares to getting that perfect kiss right at sunset or trapping that lovers gaze eternally in a picture. (wow that was pretty cheesy lol )

This is my second year of having the pleasure of shooting Pi’ilani and Richie for their annual Christmas card. Not only are they the picture perfect couple, they just so happen to be some of my best friends.  This year we had a very special guest the couples newest addition… Alana, their Beagle hound.    

Oh, let me not forget to mention an uninvited guest by the name of mother nature, she made us cut our shoot early. It was COLD!!!! Extremely cold, it was 29 degrees in the sun ( well at least for me and Pi’. Hey what do you expect, she is from Hawaii and I’m a Cali girl )  

None the less we were able to get some awesome shots
